DDo-based RP

Everin leaves the two last kobolds for Suzanna to deal with and dashes over to Frey, kneeling down next to her as soon as he arrives. Having overheard the cause he applies his hands to Frey's thighs, asking Arynna and Dorn'Ja consisely "Cover me" as he starts chanting he starts healing the wounds and negating the poison by a hand laying spell. He shortly concentrates, and his spell starts to knit the wound back together nicely and causes the poison to lose most of it's potency, only leaving Frey only slightly shaking but otherwise fine.

Dorn'Ja continues his watch. Unbeknownst to the bugbear, or the rest of the party, Dorn'Ja knows exactly where the assassin is. He's trying to fool the creature in to trying to strike again, and make itself vulnerable.

Dorn'Ja gets just that chance. The Bugbear has picked Everin as it's next victim. As the Bugbear poises itself to strike Everin from behind, the Monk jabs his staff against the side of the Bugbears knee with enough force to break it. Howling in agony and grabbing at it's shattered knee, the Bugbear falls to the ground behind Everin. Dorn'Ja plants a light foot on the Bugbears chest and rears his staff back for a killing blow to it's head.
"My apologies for putting you in danger, Everin."

Suzanna just backed up, slashing her knives around willy nilly, not being good in this kind of combat.

Everin looks up in suprise at Dorn'Ja, curious he would take such an approach and use an ally as bait, he calms himself down a bit but still slightly concerned with Dorn'Ja's unorthodox tactics he says "I... Guess it's fine, I'll trust you know what you're doing Dorn'Ja. We've got Frey out of her unfortunate position, and that's all that concerns me now." He takes a deep sigh to shake it off a bit and stands back up, taking his sword and shield as he does so and looks over at Arynna to check up on the situation.

By now, Arynna and Suzanna have finished off the two kobolds and rejoined the rest of the group.

Dorn'Ja picks up the Bugbears weapon. It looks to be caught in between an axe and a polearm. He figures that bringing along a weapon that can cut, and is still similar to a staff will help.

"So, that's everything here. We need to find a key for that door" Arynna says. Arynna looks inside the room where the Bugbear assassin was hiding in. Two chests sit within.

She goes to them, making sure watch out for traps. Arynna opens both chests. One holds the key, while the other has a tribal pendant and a softly glowing dagger.

Frey stumbildy got up.
"Craven" She bellowed, holding her axes.

Suzanna smiled.
"Big words, Frey"

Everin stands waiting, doing very little else but guard the rest and make sure nothing else could ambush them as easily.

Arynna leaves the other things in the chest, taking only the key.

She goes to the heavy door, and unlocks it. Before opening it she says "I guess we'll have to be even more careful. I wasn't told about Bugbears."

"I don't believe the guard knew it either, else he probably would ask some more specialised warriors to do the job... Or have it already dealt with for that matter." Everin says, still on the outlook for other potential threats.

"Who else would have done it?" Arynna shakes her head.
"We can handle it well enough."

The room before them is another large storage room, filled with even more crates and barrels. Several of the barrels are marked with warning signs, saying that they are easily combustible. It would be wise to avoid them. There's very little sign of kobolds using this room. Even they are smart enough to stay away from explosives.

To the left is the door leading to the next room. It's the same heavy wood door braced with iron bars, except that it's not locked.

Everin abandons his guard and takes his position in front of the party again. Asking "Everyone ready to head on?" before making his way into the room first.

Dorn'Ja raises his hand. "Wait. Open these crates. Help me find some pouches and wax string. I've got a plan."
Arynna decides to not bother him for the details, and starts to open boxes and look through them.

Everin steps back a bit back into the room, asking Dorn'Ja "Tell me, what is it?"

"I expect we'll be seeing many more kobolds, and I may not have enough fireballs for all of them. So, I will make simple bombs using the blasting powder here." Dorn'Ja says while he digs through a crate. He finds one of the things he's looking for, a long bundle of thin rope, covered in a layer of wax.
"It's easier and faster to light and throw a bomb, than it is to cast a spell."


Arynna approaches with an arm-full of small pouches. "Isn't this stealing from whoever owns the warehouse?"
Dorn'Ja shrugs. "They'll never know. It was likely the kobolds who stole it, after all."
Arynna grins. She has no problem with minor theft.

Dorn'Ja assembles the crude bombs, placing a pound of blasting powder in every pouch, sticking the wax wire in to the pouch, then tying it up tight.

Everin stands back and watches the two doors with raised guard once more, but this time finds himself being distracted by Dorn'Ja assembling the bombs. "Dorn'Ja, to be honest, do you really think that's a good idea?" Everin says, slightly objecting to using the warehouse's goods so freely "Not only are we taking goods from the warehouse which don't even belong to us, but those bombs also have a far greater potential to blow up the warehouse, or for that matter us! After all, those are improvised explosives, and I'm not doubting your skill at making them, but I'd rather not be tending to anyone who lost their limbs to a bomb gone awry."

"These bombs are just as volatile as the fireballs I would be throwing." Dorn'Ja rolls his eyes while piecing together another bomb. "All of my magic is volatile. Would you have me not cast at all?"

"That's... Not what I'm saying. I'd imagine your casting at least allows some degree over the fireball, while these bombs... They're just..." Everin sighs, peeking over at Dorn'Ja "It just doesn't sound like a very safe idea... Or one we'd be helping the warehouse owner with."

"It doesn't. I cast the spell, and using fireball as an example, I throw the ball. It lands where I throw it, and explodes. When I unleash a jet of flames from my palms, I cannot command it to snake around my allies. Where my palms face, that is where the fire goes." Dorn'Ja is clearly getting irritated with the paladin. "Why are you trying to lecture me on magic casting when you know not a thing about it?" He doesn't mention the part about the warehouse. It should be obvious, they're not being paid by the owner. They were told to clear out the kobolds, by a city guardsman.

"Well, thanks for clarifying in that case, Dorn'Ja." Everin says reluctantly. While he doesn't approve of Dorn'Ja's methods, he's finding himself having little arguments to work with and carries along with his task, waiting for the caster to finish his 'improvised fireballs'.

Dorn'Ja assembles six of his bombs, and keeps them all for himself.

Everin stands around, waiting for everyone to finish up. "Tell me once you're ready to continue on."

Arynna pushes open the next set of doors, to find another storage room filled to the ceiling with heavy crates. An armored bugbear squats on the floor, wielding a massive spiked mace. He hears the door grind open, and stands at attention immediately. It hunches forward and roars something in it's guttural language.

Compared to the bugbear assassin, who, compared to humans, was a large humanoid with strong muscles, this warrior appears as a behemoth, fully one foot taller than the assassin.

Everin reacts to the roar by looking over and almost instantly starts walking closer to see what made such a roar.

Arynna growls a bit. Everin seems to be walking around like a blind dolt, as if he cannot see what's in plain view. She looks back for a second to see Dorn'Ja rushing forward. Arynna joins him in his hasty approach of the Bugbear Warrior. Arynna dives to the ground and slides a short distance before springing up, to avoid a horizontal swing in the bugbear's mace.

Dorn'Ja jabs the Bugbear's shoulder a dozen times in quick succession, clearly with some sort of a monk's ki power behind the attack. The bugbears left shoulder, and entire arm seems to to limp and it becomes useless for now. The bugbear roars while swinging it's mace one-handed. Even with less power behind it, Dorn'Ja wouldn't dare to challenge the Bugbear's strength, and deftly jumps back from the blow. He misjudged the speed of the swing, and was punished for it with a long, thin cut across his abdomen.

With Everin realising he needed not look a few feet ahead to see the large bulking creature stand in front of him. He had no idea what had caused the temporary fading of conscience, but he started to focus on the creature and stood ready to fight. Upon seeing an opening in it's defence, Everin charges in and lunges his sword forwards, straight into it's lower chest area. The sword suddenly piercing his organs shocks and staggers the creature and before it has time to respond, Everin already pulls it out and stands infront of the bugbear, staring down the creature with a raised shield.
